New VuePix Infiled digital platforms have been installed in the reception area of TLC Aged Care facility, welcoming all the patrons and guests.
The project started as part of a large office & facilities upgrade of the TLC Aged Care at St Kilda Road. Lumicom, leading AV and IT experts based in Victoria, were appointed to design and deliver a high impact digital signage system for the reception and foyer area.
TLC Aged Care have been working with the Lumicom team for about 10 years for all their audio visual and communications needs. The team knew that this project would require a comprehensive high-end solution, which would have to be very much customised to suit the existing environment.
“The focus of this project was to deliver a new customer experience for the foyer area and really lift the space up,” explains Scott Summers, Engineering Services Manager at Lumicom. “The request was to provide a high-impact and informative digital signage system, to be used not only for branding purposes, but also to display artistic content, as well as instructional information as part of the visitor sign in.”

“The challenge presented to us was to be able to fit and customise the solution to the very specific and fixed conditions on site,” says Scott. His team worked closely with our VuePix Infiled team to design two digital platforms for the area, both in the form of creative curved LED displays.
The 13m long curved screen of 2.5mm pixel pitch has been installed around the bulkhead with a particular concave radius. The second screen has been ‘wrapped around’ the column in the centre of the foyer, with 360˚ radius and a 1.8mm pixel pitch.
“Getting the curvature of the fine pitch screen to follow the contour of the existing structures seemed to be a challenge at the start, but when we talked to the VuePix experts, they came up with an easy solution in the form of their Semi-flex digital series, and it was a perfect choice for this project,” comments Scott. “We put a lot of attention to every detail when designing this customised solution and to see it all come together nicely the first-time round was very rewarding!”
